We plan to begin outdoor classes for our 5th season the first week in May. Follow our Facebook group for of-the-minute updates!

Yoga on the Banks is currently holding a weekly indoor class called Schuylkill Flow on Saturdays at 11:15. The class hosted by Philly Yoga Factory at their 1520 Sansom St. 3rd Floor studio (there is an elevator). Class remains donation-based! We’ll return to our outdoor class schedule in the early Spring, weather permitting.

Philadelphia Yoga on the Banks began in the Spring of 2014 with a desire by Molly O’Neil to bring accessible, donation-based yoga to the Western half of Philadelphia. Encouraged by the success of Yoga on the Pier at the Race Street Pier and by Malik Wilson (@yogawithmalik), the organizer of the popular program on the Delaware River, Molly gathered together a group of enthusiastic local yoga teachers and began the Saturday morning donation-based class in April, 2014.

What started as an eager group of students still bundled in winter hats and gloves, grew larger as the spring days grew longer and warmer. When Molly moved to LA that summer to continue her yoga teacher training, Erin Gautsche and Ashley Renee Wagner took over primary teaching and organizing responsibilities, and Saturday classes swelled, with up to 90 students, children and dogs each week. When the weather grew colder, Philly Yoga Factory  generously offered studio space for the colder months, and the “Banksies” were able to carry on with their “Schuylkill Flow” class through the winter.

With the blessings of the Schuylkill River Development Corporation, Yoga on the Banks is excited to return to outdoor practice for the 2015 season with and expanded class schedule and teacher base. And, as always, donation- based.
