Hello friends! Yoga on the Banks is back! In keeping with our local Philadelphia recommendations, we are holding smaller, socially-distanced classes. Mask are required, as is advanced registration, in order to allow us to control our class size safely. If you would like to register for an upcoming class, please visit our Facebook page, or go directly to our Eventbrite page. We’re excited to see you there!

Philadelphia Yoga on the Banks began in the Spring of 2014 with a goal to bring donation-based yoga to the Western half of Philadelphia. Encouraged by the success of Yoga on the Pier at the Race Street Pier and by Malik Wilson (@yogawithmalik), the organizer of the popular program on the Delaware River, we gathered together a group of enthusiastic local yoga teachers and began the Saturday morning donation-based class in April, 2014.
What started as an eager group of students still bundled in winter hats and gloves, grew larger as the spring days grew longer and warmer. When Molly O’Neil moved to LA that summer,, Erin Gautsche and Ashley Renee Wagner took over primary teaching and organizing responsibilities, and Saturday classes swelled, with up to 90 students, children and dogs each week. When the weather grew colder, Philly Yoga Factory generously offered studio space for the colder months, and the “Banksies” were able to carry on with their “Schuylkill Flow” class through the winter.
With the blessings of the Schuylkill River Development Corporation, Yoga on the Banks is excited to return to outdoor practice for the 2020 season, with special COVID-19 accomodations. We remain a community supported project, and classes are donation – based.
