Yoga at the Market!

We’re so excited to announce a new project of Yoga on the Banks – Yoga at the Market! This seasonal series of donation-based yoga classes at farmers markets throughout Philadelphia continue our mission of providing events that promote a healthy lifestyle, celebrate our urban green spaces, and are accessible to all.

Beginning in June, Yoga at the Market will make its debut at Clark Park, Dickinson Park, and the Schuylkill River Park in conjunction with weekly farmers markets. Class will be held weekly, and will continue through the month of September.

Yoga at the Market is donation-based and has no set fee. The program is entirely supported by you – the students – and your cash donation is greatly accepted to support the teachers, insurance costs, and the administration of the program. Show up with your mat or practice on the grass! Beginners and families are most welcome.

Clark Park

Thursdays from 6pm – 7pm: in “park A” near the farmers market

Dickinson Square

Sunday from 9am – 10am: in the grassy area alongside the farmers market

Schuylkill River Park

Wednesday from 6pm-7p: 25th and Spruce (on the other side of the bridge from where we meet on weekends).

April 23rd Spring Opener!


Yoga on the Banks will begin 2016 outdoor classes with a Spring Opener Session on April 23rd from 11am – 12pm. Mark your calendars and help us celebrate returning to the Banks! Beginning May 1st, we’ll offer  our full Spring Schedule:

Saturdays: 11am – 12pm

Sundays: 11am – 12pm

Tuesdays: 6pm -7pm

Pope Weekend Update!

POPE UPDATE!!! In latest pope update news, we’re keeping our Saturday and Sunday classes (September 26th and 27th)! As you can see from the pic below, you will be able to walk across the Chestnut and Walnut bridges and down to the Banks, and should also still be able to walk across Spruce and Locust. Give yourself a little extra time, and for goodness sake, don’t drive! If you usually bring a bus or the subway, check for special schedules. Bikes should still be fine, but you may need to get off of them and walk at certain points.

Hundreds of students at Yoga on the Banks

Just over one month into the outdoor season of Yoga on the Banks, we’ve had hundreds of individual students show up and asana with their fellow Philadelphians. Spread the word! If you enjoy our outdoor practice, bring a friend, bring your kids, bring a date, bring your (well-behaved) dog! Yoga on the Banks is open to everyone, regardless of level, and is a great way to introduce someone in your life to no-pressure yoga.

Shake Shack Saturday May 16th!

Shake Shack Saturday! 

Saturday, May 16th,  Shake Shack Track and Field group will be joining us on the Banks.  Shack Track & Field is a free community fitness club powered by Shake Shack. Open to all ages and abilities, Shack Track & Field group runs, bike rides, and yoga classes are FREE, open to the public. Shake Shack will be providing free water at our opening event, and EVERYBODY will get a FREE post-yoga drink (beer, wine, soda, or shake) on Shake Shack!

Join us on the Banks April 18th!

Weather permitting, we will begin outdoor classes on Saturday, April 18th, just in time for Earth Day. Come out and celebrate the outdoor yoga season! We’ll be practicing on the grassy banks at 25th and Locust Street, on the Banks of the Schuylkill River, at 11am. Please arrive a bit early to set-up, and to sign-in.
