Hello friends! As the trees blossom and the weather warms, we’re thinking about our upcoming season of YOTB. We are keeping with our local PHILADELPHIA recommendations, and will be ready to begin our season when social distancing recommendations allow for small, spaced groups. I don’t know when that will be, but rest assured we’ll be back in the Banks as soon as it’s safe and allowed.
Many local studios are offering donation-based classes through Zoom and other platforms, and now is a great time to support local studios and teachers!
We’re going outside! Yoga on the Banks is excited to begin our 7th season on the Schuylkill Banks. Our outdoor schedule for donation-based yoga classes will be:

Philadelphia Yoga on the Banks began in the Spring of 2014 with a desire by Molly O’Neil to bring accessible, donation-based yoga to the Western half of Philadelphia. Encouraged by the success of Yoga on the Pier at the Race Street Pier and by Malik Wilson (@yogawithmalik), the organizer of the popular program on the Delaware River, Molly gathered together a group of enthusiastic local yoga teachers and began the Saturday morning donation-based class in April, 2014.
What started as an eager group of students still bundled in winter hats and gloves, grew larger as the spring days grew longer and warmer. When Molly moved to LA that summer to continue her yoga teacher training, Erin Gautsche and Ashley Renee Wagner took over primary teaching and organizing responsibilities, and Saturday classes swelled, with up to 90 students, children and dogs each week. When the weather grew colder, Philly Yoga Factory generously offered studio space for the colder months, and the “Banksies” were able to carry on with their “Schuylkill Flow” class through the winter.
With the blessings of the Schuylkill River Development Corporation, Yoga on the Banks is excited to return to outdoor practice for the 2019 season. We remain a community supported project, and classes are donation – based.
